Welcome to this completely improvised Art Post for the J2 College!AU fic It isn't easy (but it's worth it) by![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
akintay. I'm saying "completely improvised" because only two weeks ago, there was no art for the fic 
. Akintay posted an entry where she talked about her College!AU and how she was happy to have finally finished it. Being a complete sucker for High School and College fics, I contacted Akintay and asked her if I could fix quickly a couple of drawings. I can't describe you how happy I was when she kindly accepted my offer! 
As the fic is BB length (around 27,000 words), I treated it as Big Bang and also drew some banners and dividers. I hope you will enjoy the result.

I don't draw the boys happy and smiling very often so I'm happy you liked Jensen in the second art. I drew his cheeks particularly red, I wanted to show he was a bit drunk. ^o^

Date: 2012-02-07 07:31 pm (UTC)Okay, that's a lie: I should start with the fact that I have no words for how much I adore your art and YOU. And by how absolutely blown-away and flattered I was that you offered to do art for me. You have no idea how happy you made me with that ♥
And the art. THE ART IS SO AMAZING. I'm totally in love with the banner because it's such a perfect representation of the fic. And I love that your favorite scenes of the fic is my favorite as well – when you wouldn't tell me which scene you were doing art of, I was really, really hoping that maybe it would be the Halloween party and I'm so, so delighted that you did indeed draw that. The boys look so gorgeous and flirty in that drawing ♥ And the breakfast art – eee, the boys look so sleepy and rumpled and adorable.
The comic still cracks me up (probably because I keep thinking of your title for it). The drawing of the house is perfect and I love the colors & drunken!boys kissing and omg, the boys sleeping next to each other. IT'S SO ADORABLE AND BEAUTIFUL.

Date: 2012-02-11 09:31 am (UTC)You have no idea how happy I WAS when you told me "yes, you can illustrate my fic" and also that I had the time because you were not going to post the story right away.
You should have seen me in front of my computer when I read your post saying that you finally finished your fic. It was comedy gold. I was like: "OMG...Akintay wrote a College!AU...I want to illustrate it. Maybe I could contact her? NO, NO, NO..I don't have the time!! /o\ It's not reasonable. Huh..Ok, just ONE little illustration, it's not gonna take long, huh?" Then I wrote you the email to ask you the permission and you sent me the fic: "Oh no...I knew it...The fic is awesome..How am I gonna choose one scene?! :/ I have the time anyway..I'm gonna draw two..huh..maybe...huh...three arts if I have the time. OMG, Jensen bakes MUFFINS!! I have to draw MUFFINS too, etc, etc..."
It's how I went from one drawing to 2 arts, 1 comic, 3 banners and 2 dividers.
Apparently people were surprised that for once, there were no blood and that nobody died or ended up at the hospital. xD
BTW, I had problems editing my post to insert the link to the fic but I gave the link to your story to all the people who commented in my post and I also had the occasion to post the link on my Tumblr
Anyway, a BIG THANK YOU for being so kind, writing awesome fics (and letting me have fun with them \o/ )

What does it take to get you to illustrate a fic? I know you're always busy creating something, but I was curious how you decide what you're going to do and for whom?
I only illustrate fics for challenge I signed up to like BB or exchanges. However, VERY rarely, I contact authors I already collaborated with (precisely during BB) like Akintay (2011 J2BB) or obstinatrix (2011 DCBB) and ask them if I can illustrate their fic. I don't do it often because I am always busy with a lot of illustrations so I try to restrict myself ^^

The "comics" strip is amazing, it's so easy to see the story behind it! BTW, I think if illustrations are NOT spoiler y for the story, then these are bad illustrations. And I find it kinda strange that artists use to warn about it - shouldn't it be obvious?)))

The art with Jays taking a picture is so sweet! (SWEET! No gore! Oh, I love your gore, but right now I love you even more for the lack of it! XDDD)
I also adore all the little things you have patience to draw - spoons and cupcakes and cups - all these still-life-objects that must be hella boring to draw, but they look great!
I still hardly can see what I wrote here with white tiny letters on pink, so if there are even more mistakes in my comment than usual - it's your fault ^^

SWEET! No gore! Oh, I love your gore, but right now I love you even more for the lack of it!
Don't be so sure: there a monster behind the door. In the next minute, the boys are going to be eaten alive and there is gonna be blood everywhere. Well, that's an alternative version of Akintay's fic xD (I'm glad not to be an author, I would be the queen of bad!fic...)

It's because it's FOOD ^o^ I LOVE drawing food!! That's why the Del Montes were constantly eating when I drew the illustrations for small small world, it was a pretext to draw cakes and hamburgers xD
