Yep! The movie Sucker Punch (go ahead, laugh
). It's far from being the best movie in the world but the book The Art of Sucker Punch was very inspirational in terms of "production design". In the movie, the main character Baby Doll has a katana with an engraving running all along the blade. According to the book, it's a summary of the character's life from the murder of her sister to her lobotomy at the end of the movie.
I applied the same principle to You are the one with your finger on the gun and to Sam and Dean's story. The divider follows chronologically what is happening in the fic: hunting, the fear of dying, love and hunting again.
I liked the font you used, where can I find it?
The font is called "Floydian" and is inspired by the font used on the cover of the Pink Floyds' albums. You can find it here: FLOYDIAN
That's funny, one of your soundtrack arts seems familiar...I have the impression that I saw it somewhere!

Date: 2011-08-04 09:13 am (UTC)I told you this a million times, but the art is so beautiful. Every single piece you sent me over the last few months blew me away, hon. You really have an eye for detail - you manage to turn simple scenes into the most beautiful images, so full of emotions. And the atmosphere in the drawings makes me shudder. EVERYTHING IS SO PERFECT. I can't even choose which of the drawings is my favorite (though I do have a soft spot for young!Sam reading The Great Gatsby :D).
Thank you so, so much - for the wonderful art, but most of all for being such a sweet, nice person. Working with you was a blast ♥

There should have been 6 arts in the STR and then I kept on adding one and another one, and at the end I was like "Rhhooo, screw it, I am gonna go for 10 arts!!!". The hardest part was to choose what scene from the fic I was going to draw. There was so many things that inspired me even a simple line like "I think I moved your toothbrush the other day" ^o^

If you go to check the link in my comment (the one of Spnroundtable), you will see a step by step gif. To answer your question more precisely, I don't put the ref. picture as a base layer. I have it next to the picture I work on to help me because I always need a reference picture. That's the problem when you draw realistically, models are always necessary :(

This is the bad thing about you posting it all at once - I download it, and watch it and then I'm not myself anymore, I'm gurgling pink happy pool, trying not to burst into crying because of the overdose of beauty. Oh that's ok, don't even apologize! ^^ You can't comment on everything I post. I post so much and so many things that I have problems updating my own master post! ^^;; I updated it recently on Petite-Madame but it's still a mess here, at Smallworld_inc ^^;; I really have to do something!!

Oh really? ^^;; A lot of people found my arts for this fic creepy and gloomy in spite of the bright colors. Maybe because I put the stress on the sentence "If I even turn into something that I'm not, you have to kill me". Ok, the boys reading together are adorable. I don't draw kids a lot, in fact, I HATE drawing kids. Teenagers are ok but kids are awful. They have a big head and small, very small fingers. They look like real life chibies xD It drives me nuts every time I have to draw one ^^;;
The arts in "Soundtrack folder" I'm watching one by one with one eye closed, so I wouldn't explode right away
Ha! ha! I am the one who almost exploded because of the soundtrack arts ^o^ The casette tape and the EMF meter drove me nuts because of the details. I hate drawings objects. I do it because I have too but I prefer characters, particularly Sam and Dean.
