Fan Art : A Dean/Castiel Post (with just  a little bit of Wincest too...)

What's the concept ?

Me exploring the other side of the fandom: my first Dean/Castiel post. I've been wanting to draw D/C arts for ages but I couldn't find good ideas until I finally stumble upon some great prompts that inspired me at the spn_kink_art community.

It was a lot of fun but also quite difficult at the same time because it was only the 2nd or 3rd time I drew Misha's face. Unlike artmetica , I don't have a "PhD in Castiel"

1) The Last Goodbye

A prompt I filled for the spn_kink_art  community.

Dean/Castiel, Farewell Kiss. I would like a kiss between Dean and Castiel but something that could be interpreted as a farewell kiss please (whatever the reason : Cas has to go back to Heaven, Dean (or Cas) is dying, etc...). <3

A very good idea that gave me the possibility to use all my fractal brushes at once (I don't use them that often so I was very excited) and to experiment some new light effects. I love drama and death!fics but I didn't go for the death scene option. I was certainly in a light mood that day

Paintover on the set because sometimes, I am lazy...

2) God, are you there?

During S5, I've waited patiently for the amulet to come back and to start shining suddenly like the sun in August but it never happened. Never mind, that's what fan arts are for after all...

Technically speaking, I worked with a limited number of colors and went for a minimalistic sepia/brown palette, a real challenge for me who loves purple and green highlights. I also forgot about very saturated colors and fadded these colors thanks to several textures and gradient layers.



1) The CG painting before the color treatment: I worked with dark and saturated colors and very visible brush strokes.
2) First attempt at fading the colors: a light purple/yellow gradient set to normal with an opacity of 20%
3) The final picture with the add of another gradient + a background texture downloaded at Deviant Art.

3) Bloodplay

Guess who filled a prompt for the spn_kink_art  comm again? (Damn it, that comm is addictive! ).

Vampire!Dean/Cas Neck Biting, Bloodplay - Vampire Dean feeding off of Cas, maybe 'grace-sucking'? Cas is totally into it!

I am completely unable to tell you what attracted me in the first place in that prompt. I prefer wincest and I don't like vampires but for some obscure reasons it really appealed to me. I think that maybe it was the "grace-sucking" part and the fun I was going to have trying to show that on the future drawing. I had several ideas but I finally went for softly glowing sigils traveling up Cas' neck and flowing into Dean's mouth. Bonus guilty pleasure: the halo. I refrained from drawing Cas' wings because I was afraid it was a bit "too much" but no way I was going to drop the halo, a little eccentricity in this very dark picture.

And because I just can't resist a good prompt (particularly when I know there's a hurt!Dean in it), I filled the following prompt for the hoodie_time 's dean-focused h/c comment-fic meme.

Dean is sick/sad/hurt/anything and wants SNUGGLES, but would never, ever admit it. But Sam is smart, and figures it out. Yay, Sam!

Sooo beautiful! I love all of them! The kiss is lovely- the textures and the ghostly image of the city give it a real dreamlike quality. Of course my favourite is the grace-sucking, yum yum YUM!

Can I just say? Your work...it's a thing of beauty. I'm not a wincest fan personally but that Sam/Dean black and white? Beautiful.

Oh and from a purely selfish point of view, you should definitely draw more Cas/Dean ;) You have them down so perfectly it's frightening.

Oh my god!! These. You might possiblynhave changed my mind about dean/cas. That kiss is magic! So heartfelt and beautiful. I struggle to actually believe in dean/cas but seeing this I can see what others see in it. I also adore the vamp dean one. That drawing of cas / misha is stunning. I generally don't find cas particularly attractive (I may have to hide saying that..*g* I do find misha gorgeous though) But this. wow! I could stare at this for ages...

And the Sam/dean pic is fabulous also. The way dean's hand rests on sam's. It's as though they are comforting each other, even though dean's the one that's hurt.

Wow, the Sam/Dean one makes me so warm and tingly. ;-) Yeah for h/c snuggles! (love that Sam is smart enough to figure Dean out). Their expressions, the pose, the emotions you captured... Just wow *bows to you*

I'm not a Dean/Cas shipper but nonetheless I have to say that your Dean/Cas pictures are really beautiful too. And the expression you managed to capture in the "God are you there" pic is so much Cas... I want to hug him, he so needs a good snuggle!

The Wincest piece is cute and a little sad at the same time. But we all know that Dean always gets better, especially with Sam cuddles.

OMG! you just made, like, my entire week with this post. Your Castiel is stunning. Not just because of the likeness (which is perfect, BTW!), but because the whole painting style is so emotional and lively; the way your strokes flow and shape the forms, build the "atmosphere", especially in the D/C pieces - ahh.

And I am so with you re: the amulet, I kept waiting for it to mean something in the story, too, so I am especially happy to see the amulet piece and how you've given Cas some hope in it. :) He totally deserved this kind of miracle.

I'm not at all into Dean/Cas but i really appreciate your technique and work with color - blood on mostly black&white bodies looks great!
But 'Everything is gonna be alright' - oh God... I always knew - if I ever would cry over pic it would be one of yours drawings. It heartbreaking. Poor Dean :(((((

Well you are no longer a Castiel virgin!! Great job on the likeness in all three Cas pictures.
1) The kiss - awesome, really wonderful. The lighting behind/between them, the softness and desperation in the kiss - and I love how it seems that Cas (htough maybe Dean too) is dissolving into light. Gorgeous.
2) The amulet one - this looks great close up, especially Cas' eyes shining
3) Guh!! I love both their faces, the noir feel using the black & white with just the blood in colour, and the enochian/hebrew symbolising the grace was a lovely idea.
4) I always love your drawings and this one is so melancholy - one tiny critisism though (I know, how dare I!!?) - Dean's hand on Sam's head doesn't look quite right.
